Prof. Dr. Haşmet Bardakçı was born in Karaman in 1968. He graduated from Konya Anatolian High School and Eskişehir Medical School. Dr. Bardakçı completed the residency of Cardiovascular Surgery at Istanbul University Cardiology Institute Florence Nightingale Hospital and Turkiye Yüksek Ihtisas Hospital (Ankara). During his residency, he had the opportunity to work with Turkey’s most valuable professors and benefited greatly from their experience. This included learning the finesses of the profession and apprehending the effects of personal effort and great teamwork on patients’ lives, which led him to see his practice as a bridge between his patients and their loved ones.
Later, as a young expert, Dr. Bardakci worked at the University of Columbia, USA, as a scholar of the Ministry of Health of Turkiye, upon being ranked first in a national examination held by the latter.
Dr. Bardakci found and seized several opportunities to work with world- reknowned names in the field during that period and thereafter. Those opportunities have broadened greatly his horizons about Heart and Vascular Surgery.
Dr. Bardakci became an Associate Professor in 2008, and a Professor of cardiovascular surgery in 2013. He has been contributing to the training of numerous assistants and young colleagues both in Turkiye and abroad since 2001, the year he became a Chief Assistant.
He has carried out, and continues to carry out, hundreds of scientific studies and researches that have been cited in medical books on Heart and Vascular Surgery, including recently published American and European guidelines determining how diseases should be treated.
